Franz Markus Nestl has been Senior Partner at the law company GNBZ Graff Nestl Baurecht Rechtsanwälte GmbH  in Vienna since 2003. He furthermore serves as the Austrian nominated arbitrator to the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France, the Austrian Representative to the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, and member of the CFR (Brussels/Belgium) representing the Austrian & European Bar Association. He teaches European Business Law in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Nestl started his career as Sales and Distribution Manager for Kronen Zeitung and Täglich Alles for three regional districts in 1989. He stayed in this position throughout his studies of law at the Karl Franzens-University of Graz until 1995. After military service and positions at the District Town Administration of Leibnitz and the Criminal and Civil Courts of Leibniz, Graz and Vienna, he joined Dr. Graff and Associates in 1997 and became partner in 2001.

From 1996 to 1997 Franz Markus Nestl attended a specialized program in International Financial and Trade Relations, European Private Law, Law of the European Union and Comparison of Dutch and Anglo-American Law at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In 2000, he completed his doctorate at the University of Vienna with a focus on international contract law and was admitted to the Austrian Bar Association. In 2008, Nestl co-authored a book on EU Competition Law.
