Item Response Theory and Computerized Adaptive Testing Workshop
presented by
University of Cambridge, The Psychometrics Centre in cooperation with Webster University, Vienna, Psychology Department
A hands-on workshop for research and the development of modern online tests for the average computer-user.
Thurs., June 21st – Sat., June 23rd, 2012 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.
Webster University, Berchtoldgasse 1, 1220 Vienna, Austria
Item response theory (IRT) is one of the most advanced methods to develop top quality psychological tests. It is so advanced that most researchers and psychologists shy away from it, can’t meet the requirements, or don’t have the software to utilize it. University of Cambridge’s Psychometrics Centre has revolutionized the use of IRT by producing a user-friendly program, open source R-based online adaptive testing platform, Concerto. The Centre’s staff will be at Webster University to share Concerto with fellow psychologists, researchers and students.
During the first two days the Psychometric Centre will teach students and remind professionals about IRT, its uses and analysis. Their staff aims to meet the participants at their knowledge level and incorporates examples and exercises to enrich the learning process. The final session will run through step-by-step, how to set up and publish an IRT test with their ground breaking online platform, Concerto.
Develop your own IRT based tests: Bring IRT to Life!
The workshops will be done in small groups: limited space available!
Secure one of the last few spaces! Registration extended to May 10th!
See www.psychometrics.cam.ac.uk for more information on Concerto.
The fee is 350€, which includes three lunches at a local restaurant. For early registrations (by March 1st), there is a reduced fee of 325€.
Thirty hours of continued education credits available.
