A Message from the Director

Welcome,

to Webster University, Vienna where we combine the best of the American educational system with an international perspective. Our mission is to serve an international student body by providing an education that will help you develop the skills, attitudes and habits necessary to thrive and grow in our rapidly changing global society.

As we all know, change is one of the few constants we can count on.
New technologies are dramatically transforming all ways of life throughout the world, offering tremendous opportunities for those who are prepared, but at the same time threatening established values and institutions.

Innovation is breaking down walls that have kept people apart for centuries. In the past decade alone we have witnessed the rise of social networking technologies, 3rd & 4th generation mobile phones, and cloud computing.  At the same time, terrorism, wars, and major economic crisis are transforming the world we live in. These are heady times.

What we hope to do at Webster is to provide you with the tools that will help you succeed, not just today and tomorrow - but throughout your lifetime. There is an old adage: 'give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day; teach him how to fish and he'll eat forever'. At Webster, we want to teach you how to fish; we want to teach you how to learn throughout your entire life so that when change occurs you will be prepared for it!

You are about to embark on a very important decision, namely which university you will attend and which program of studies you will undertake. I hope that the information you find here will make that decision easier and that I have the chance to meet you personally here on campus at one of our Open Information Evenings or, better still, as a student in one of our programs.
