Graduation Ceremony

May 8, 2010

Each year on graduation day, the Alumni Association honors outstanding students and alums with special awards for their achievements. The UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD is presented to a graduating senior who has exhibited distinguished leadership throughout his/her academic years at Webster, and who has shared his/her talents with his/her specific department, the student body, and the surrounding community. This year’s recipient was Sanja Trajkovska.

The OUTSTANDING GRADUATE STUDENT AWARD is presented to a graduating student who has made distinguished contributions to his/her graduate program, the student body, or surrounding community during enrollment at Webster University. Jan Vilimek was nominated for this year’s graduate student award. Both awards are sponsored by St. Louis.

The third Alumni Award is the Bronwyn K. Mitterecker Memorial Alumni Award. It was created in honor of Bronwyn K. Mitterecker who worked for Webster Vienna for more than a decade serving as director of admission and as alumni coordinator. When she died in spring 2005, her husband Wolfgang established this award. It is presented to an alumna or alumnus of Webster University Vienna who has made specific, meritorious contributions to the community through his or her profession or field of voluntary service. This year’s recipient is Selma Zahirović. Stefano Cantini, president of the Vienna Chapter of the Alumni Association, presented the awards to the nominees.
