A cooperation between Webster University, St.Louis, MO and Webster University in Vienna is now presenting the first exhibition on contemporary Bulgarian Art in the Midwest and Austria. This exhibition demonstrates the range of important and vibrant works being created by artists in (or from) Bulgaria. It is comprised of works in various media, installation, video, photography and painting.

Most of these artists have not been widely shown however, each has participated in major international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale, the Moscow Biennial of Contemporary Art and Manifesta.

It will be presented in the Wittgenstein House in Vienna, which was declared a national Austrian monument and today houses the Bulgarian Culture Institute.

The exhibition was very successful in St. Louis, thanks to many supporters, such as the Arthur and Helen Baer Charitable Foundation, the Missouri Arts Council and the Santo Foundation. It supports Webster University’s mission on international education and is also intended to engage Bulgarian diasporic communities.
