International Art Certificate

The International Art Certificate provides the opportunity to study at a Webster campus combined with art study abroad. The purpose is the enable the student to gain a deeper understanding of the international nature of contemporary art. By completing the following courses it is possible for students majoring in Art to complete the International Art Certificate in addition to the B.A. degree.

In addition to the courses listed below, students must complete 3 credits in a foreign language  (1000 level) or demonstrate proficiency in a language other than the student’s native language. All courses must be completed at a Webster University site. Grades of “C-“ or below cannot be applied to the certificate program.

Course Requirements: 24 crequired credit hours/8 courses

Art and Art History courses, 15 credit hours/5 courses including:

3 CR
Or      
ARHS 3350 17th and 18th Century Art 3 CR
Or      
ARHS 3360 History of Modern Art 3 CR
Plus      
Four ARHS or ART courses 3 CR
ARHS 2000 Art Forum 1 CR
Two courses from the following:
ART
4610
Reading Course (capstone course including presentation)
2 CR
GNST 1400 Civilization and the Arts 3 CR
HIST 2220 Modern Europe 3 CR
PHIL 3120 Philosophy and Art 3 CR

Two art courses at Webster Vienna or another Webster International campus.
