Program Description

Human Resources Management (HRM) is about managing people as effectively as possible for the benefit of the individual, the organization and society. On a strategic level, HRM is focused on the organization’s strategy, mission and goals. By providing the organization with a skilled, motivated, flexible and cost effective workforce and by contributing to a high quality of working life and ensuring full legal compliance, HRM professionals help the organization to gain a competitive advantage. On an operational level, the goals of HRM are to attract and retain the right talents, as well as train, motivate and downsize the organization when needed.

Webster University’s HRM program offers this double focus - HRM strategy and HRM operations. The faculty consist HRM practitioners, typically senior HRM executives, as well as of academic researchers. Course requirements are designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of HRM policies and practices covering all major HRM activities including workforce management, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee wellbeing, training and development and labor-management relations.
