Solar Energy in the Arab Region

Dr. Mehdi Ali,

Following his lecture on “Renewable Energy in the Arab World”, before the Arab Energy Forum in May 2011, Dr. Mehdi Ali, Professor of Economics at Webster, was invited by the Arab Renewable Energy Commission to give a presentation on “Solar Energy in the Arab Region” before the Arab Renewable Energy Congress held in Amman, Jordan during 29-30 November 2011.

"Research Preparation" Series

Starting Fall II, the Business & Management Department will begin offering a three part series of 1-credit courses designed to help students lose their fear of statistics and research.  The "BUSN 3100 Issues in Business: Research Preparation Seminars" will place emphasis on gaining an intuitive understanding of statistical tools without using mathematical equations. Various applications including but not limited to business and economics will be presented.

Delta Mu Delta is the international honor society that recognize academic excellence in bachelor or master’s level degree business administration programs at Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) accredited schools.

Fostering Productive Cross-Cultural Learning In Management Courses

Dr. Julia Skobeleva

Dr. Julia Skobeleva, Business and Management Faculty, will represent Webster University Vienna at the summer conference "Research /Teaching Excellence in Business and Economics". The conference is organized by the International Academy of Business and Economics and will take place in Barcelona, Spain, June 3-5, 2011. In her paper "Fostering Productive Cross-Cultural Learning In Management Courses", Dr. Skobeleva provides a theoretical rationale and empirical evidence regarding how knowledge is created in a cross-cultural classroom.

In January we reported on an article on “Solar Energy in Saudi Arabia” by Dr. Mehdi Ali, Professor of Economics at Webster, published by the Middle East Economic Survey (Jan-Feb 2011 Edition). Following this publication Dr. Ali was invited by the Arab Energy Forum to give a presentation on renewable energy on the Middle East.

25 Years MBA in Austria

In 1985 Webster University was the first institution in Austria to offer the Master of Business Administration (MBA). 25 Years later the MBA has become a recognized and well accepted higher education degree in Austria. Webster Vienna is now offering several specialized MBA programs, a general MBA and a Global MBA.

Webster again in the Solar Energy News

In October 2010 Dr. Mehdi Ali, Professor of Economics at Webster, participated in an international solar energy conference in Saudi Arabia. Following his participation at the conference, Dr. Ali has written an article on the subject entitled “Solar Energy in Saudi Arabia – Historical Perspectives and Current Status”. The article traced the efforts of Saudi Arabia to tap its enormous potential in solar energy as it boasts an average solar radiation of 1,700 - 2,200 kWh/m2 per year, among the highest in the world.
