PDC offers 2011
A few words concerning our 2011 offer,
2010 saw an uptick in the demand for executive seminars compared to the previous two years. We take this as an indicator that the economy as a whole is recovering. As your seminar demand grows over the next year we hope that you will consider increasing your partnership with the Professional Development Center at Webster University allowing us to deliver more top notch executive education and training with international character to your organization.
We have several new additions to our portfolio of seminars: “Creativity Innovation & Management”, “Why Strategy Fails” and “Lessons in Leadership – The Shackleton Way”. We have also increased our collaboration with Webster’s Psychology department allowing us to offer courses such as: the Psychology of Entrepreneurial Decision Making; the Psychology of Persuasion; Advertising and Media Psychology & Methods of Psychology and Market Research.
I would like to point out two new ways organizations and individuals can access the PDC’s educational services. Following the success of Corporate MBAs conducted by Webster University for several Fortune 500 companies in the United States, we have begun earnest discussions with Austrian companies concerning similar programs here. Utilizing the PDC’s close ties to Webster University, we are in the unique position to offer customized for-credit, university-style courses as part of a Corporate MBA program. While following the MBA curriculum in regard to core courses, the PDC will work with companies to design additional elective courses which are tailor-made to their specific needs. While rigor and methodological content are set in core courses, the PDC (in close cooperation with the university) can ensure that all case studies, guest speakers, projects, etc. are relevant to the organization. Online versions of all MBA courses exist in case your employees need a greater degree of flexibility. Please contact the PDC for further information about this unique corporate package.
Access to PDC services is now also open to individuals. We are happy to announce that we will begin offering regular open-enrolment courses. Our new LifeLongLearning program will allow you and your colleagues to audit selected Webster University courses through the PDC. Topics for these seminar/courses will be diverse, reflecting the University’s varied talent and knowledge; ranging from Business and Management to History, Psychology, Media, Art and English. Classes will typically meet in the evening to accommodate working professionals and all lectures will be held in English. Please visit our webpage or contact us for upcoming LLL Seminar offers.
Sincerely,

Christian Newman
Director of the Professional Development Center
