Background and Facts

Dr. Pitters studied psychology at the Universities of Würzburg and Hamburg where she graduated in 2004. She received her doctorate from the University of Vienna in the field of economic (tax) psychology in 2007. Her main research areas are social and economic psychology, dealing with questions of macro threats and work performance, tax morality, and financial decisions. In addition, she did training for problem and conflict resolution at the University of Hamburg.

Since 2004, Dr. Pitters has been working for a market and social research company in Vienna that conducts quantitative research projects like representative surveys of the population or of selected groups as well as qualitative studies like focus groups and expert in-depths interviews. In particular, she was in charge of a yearly survey with economic journalists about the image of commercial sectors and big companies. Since 2010, she is partner of the consultancy Pitters℗ Trendexpert.

In 2008, Dr. Pitters started working at Webster and very much enjoys the variety of subjects to teach. She also gives lectures at other institutions, such as the University of Vienna, The Danube University Krems and the University of Salzburg. Her main teaching ambitions are to pass on her personal fascination of psychological diversity and to provide a good mixture of necessary knowledge, practical inputs, critical thinking and creative freedom of application.
