Background and Facts

Dr. Arzberger holds a doctorate degree in clinical psychology (psychology/psychiatry/psychopathology) from the University of Salzburg.

She is a trained psychotherapist and psychoanalyst and has been in her own private practice since 1982. For several years she worked therapeutically in various clinical settings with children and adolescents both in counseling centers and clinics in Austria and in the US at the University of Chicago.

Since 1985 she has been working in the area of HIV / AIDS, for several years as the head of the AIDS Services Counseling Center, and currently as Project Coordinator of the "buddy-project" for the support of people with HIV/AIDS.

Her extensive teaching experiences include various institutions such as the University of Vienna, the University of Klagenfurt, nursing schools, and social work schools. 

Her publications center on psychosocial and counseling issues around HIV/AIDS, and psychoanalytic topics.
