Background and Facts

Mrs. Ebner-Daigle holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Université de Moncton in New Brunswick, Canada, and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University in Vienna. Her thesis work elaborated on the established notion of burnout to focus on its significance as a manifestation of intentionality.

Before emigrating from Canada, Mrs. Ebner-Daigle worked as a rehabilitation specialist with patients suffering from work-related injuries, and in counseling in the field of social and professional reintegration. Since arriving in Austria, she has been teaching at Webster University and also works in the administration as registrar. In 2006, she helped organise the international burnout conference hosted by Webster, where she also lectured on intentionality and burnout.

Mrs. Ebner-Daigle strongly believes that learning is interactive, and interaction is learning; students have the opportunity to actively shape their educational environment through their own investment and participation. When this happens, the classroom becomes a place to openly exchange ideas and discuss theories in a practical and contemporary context thus making them applicable to everyday situations.Currently, her research interests focus on the psychology of the internet and the practice of self-disclosure on social networking sites.
