Background and Facts

Mrs. Rothschild was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. In 1993, she received her B.A. in Psychology at Southern Oregon State College (now Southern Oregon University). Her senior year she was the Student Body Vice President and graduated Cum Laude, in addition to receiving other honors and awards:

  • Churchill Scholar Honors Program, 1992 - 1993
  • Omicron Delta Kappa, National Honor Society for Leadership, 1993
  • Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, 1993
  • Psi Chi, National Honor Society for Psychology, 1992
  • Oregon Laurels Scholarship, 1992

During her exchange year in 1994, she met a neighbor and decided to stay in Vienna. Mrs. Rothschild received her Austrian degree “Magister der Naturwissenschaften” (Magister in Natural Sciences) in Psychology in 2000, from the University of Vienna. Her thesis focused on chronic and acute back pain patients and how they deal with stressors: “Salutogenesis and Back Pain: Sense of Coherence as an Influential Factor for Recovery.” In 2002, she completed the post-graduate licensing as a Clinical and Health Psychologist. Her main interest is working people with physical ailments: for example, working with pain patients, and her work as a Cardiac Psychologist assisting heart patients who are hospitalized because of a heart attack, bypass surgery, pacemaker & deliberator implantations, angioplasty or other cardiovascular problems. Another focus of her interest is psychological testing and diagnostics. Her current role as the mother of two small children has her professional path temporarily on hold.

Mrs. Rothschild has taught at Webster University since 2001.
