PSYC2250 Adolescent Psychology

Examines the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social changes of adolescence. This course will focus on the study of adolescent development from pubescence to young adulthood.

Lectures and class discussions consider the characteristics and problems of contemporary adolescents and implications for emerging adulthood. Topics include: the study of identity development; gender identity; family dynamics; achievement, work and careers; and problems faced by today’s adolescents will also be explored.

Prerequisite: PSYC 1100, or permission of the instructor.
