PSYC3600 Social Psychology

This course will examine the social nature of individuals (attitudes, attitude change, prejudice), dyads (human relations), and small groups (conformity, decision making, leadership), and how different social settings influence people on perception, cognitive processes, and attitude formation and change.

Applications of social psychology are numerous in everyday life. The methodology of the course will be based on interactive presentations, video clips, case studies, and group work, in order to enhance student’s exploration of this contemporary area of psychology.

Prerequisite: PSYC 1100, PSYC 2825, and 6 credit hours of psychology, or permission of the instructor.
