Psychology can be seen as an umbrella discipline overarching all other disciplines. It is the study of the human mind and the behavior that it generates, as well as how humans behave across various subjects.

Our psychology students use approaches that range from the scientific to the philosophical, from the experimental to the theoretical. Through these methods our students develop and apply problem-solving skills that will help them think analytically and communicate clearly and persuasively throughout their lives and careers.

Choose Webster Vienna for Your Bachelor of Science in Psychology

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology is designed to provide the biological, cognitive, personality and social contexts for understanding the behavior of individuals throughout their lifespan. This is our most rigorous track, specifically designed for students who want to master the research-intensive and empirical side of the field.

Students who successfully complete the BS will have the foundation, research skills and data analysis expertise to succeed in competitive MA/PhD Psychology graduate programs (e.g., clinical psychology, experimental psychology, etc.). Students will develop a research hypothesis based on current psychological science, and then collect, analyze, interpret and present the data to address complex questions.

Technical and Research Experience

The Bachelor of Science curriculum is designed for students targeting research-intensive graduate programs and technical career paths. Requirements in Advanced Statistics and the Senior Thesis provide quantitative competencies and empirical foundations that make our graduates stand out in both job applications and PhD admissions.

Biological and Genetic Foundations

Go beyond behavioral theory. Unlike the Bachelor of Arts tracks, the Bachelor of Science curriculum includes a non-psychology supporting core, featuring Human Biology and Human Genetics. This ensures you understand the physiological factors that influence human behavior and mental processes.
