"Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen and a push in the right direction."

Dare to Grow Together

WVPU’s Mentoring Program "Dare to Grow Together" was launched in 2021.

The program, scheduled from October to May, aims to support our soon-to-be graduates with their career development, help them increase their knowledge and build skills for future goals and success.

Webster Vienna alumni support students in pursuing their goals by interacting with them in productive conversations and meetings, exchanging ideas and sharing knowledge of career paths and insights to life after graduation.

This program is designed to support mentees in:

  • gaining clarity about their career interests and strengths
  • exploring different career paths and opportunities
  • asking meaningful questions and learning from experienced professionals
  • defining concrete next steps for their personal and professional development

At the same time, mentors benefit from:

  • sharing their knowledge and making a meaningful impact
  • developing their leadership and coaching skills
  • gaining fresh perspectives through exchange with motivated mentees
  • expanding their professional network and staying in touch with your alma mater

Frequently Asked Questions

Alumni with at least five years of work experience can apply to be mentors (they do not need to be based in Vienna). Current students graduating in the next one to two years are eligible to apply as mentees.

The application deadline is Aug. 18, 2026, for mentors and Sept. 25, 2026, for mentees.

The minimum is one mentoring session per month. If you want to meet more often, you are welcome to do so. The total time commitment depends on how much time each mentoring pair wants to invest in the program.

We also host three campus events during the academic year: a kick-off in October, a workshop in January, and a farewell in May. These events are in person on the WVPU campus. Attendance is encouraged but not required.

First, the WVPU Career Services team will schedule a short interview with you. This helps us learn about your preferences and answer your questions. After all interviews are finished, we thoughtfully match pairs of mentors and mentees to ensure a good fit. This helps everyone get the most out of the experience.

If you have any further questions about your application, please contact the WVPU Career Services team by email at mentoring@webster.ac.at.
