Webster Vienna Celebrates the Holidays at Palais Wenkheim

WVPU gingerbread competition

Webster Vienna Private University (WVPU) recently hosted several on-campus events as a way to celebrate the University’s community.

In November, Webster Vienna celebrated its annual Thanksgiving dinner. For many students, this was their first experience with the traditional American holiday. More than 100 attendees gathered at Palais Wenkheim on WVPU's campus for the long-awaited return of this beloved annual event.

Students, alumni, faculty and staff with their families listened to remarks by WVPU Associate Director Samuel R. Schubert about the history of this holiday and watched the premiere of a new video highlighting alumni achievements.

This month, the Student Government Association (SGA) hosted a gingerbread house decorating contest. Students and staff gathered as teams in the WVPU atrium to build the edible holiday houses, and students passing by on their way to study for exams were able to vote for a winning design. The SGA also sponsored a “white elephant” gift exchange.

These festive events are just a sampling of what WVPU organizes in the historic Palais Wenkheim building, which houses its campus. In addition to these types of events, students can be involved in campus life by joining the SGA or attending one of the many on-campus lectures that are planned for 2023.

WVPU is truly American education at its best in Europe and we invite you to join our community by applying today.
