WVPU Kicks Off Mentoring Program - Viennese Style
October 25, 2023
On Oct. 19, Webster Vienna’s Career Services and the Webster Vienna Alumni Association hosted the kick-off event for the 2023-2024 Mentoring Program.
WVPU’s Mentoring Program, entitled "Dare to Grow Together," was launched in 2021. This year’s program, which runs until May, provides career development support for WVPU undergraduate students in their third and fourth year, as well as qualifying graduate students.
Webster Vienna alumni support students’ goals by interacting with them through conversations and meetings, exchanging and providing ideas and sharing knowledge of career paths or insights to life after graduation.
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023 Webster Vienna Private University Mentoring Program. This annual initiative reflects our commitment to empower our students with the knowledge, guidance and resources they need to succeed in their academic and professional journeys,” said Nora Binder, head of the Webster Vienna Human Resources and Career Services Office.
“We believe that mentorship plays an important role in shaping future leaders, and we are excited to witness progression of this year’s mentor-mentee relationships,” Binder said.
Alexandra Deubner, Senior Career Service Officer, also supports students in the program.
"Participation in a career mentorship program can be transformative for students. The WVPU mentoring program goes beyond traditional classroom learning, offering our students an opportunity to connect with experienced professionals,” said Alexandra Deubner, Senior Career Service Officer.
During the event, members of the program and 15 alumni attendees gathered on WVPU’s campus for a Heurigen-style dinner and social hour. Palais Wenkheim was temporarily transformed into a Heuriger, a traditional Viennese wine tavern.
All alumni are invited to join the Webster Vienna Alumni Association’s Online Community at alumni.webster.ac.at.
