Webster Vienna Private University’s (WVPU) Career Services team recently organized a networking event at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) General Conference.

Five students from the International Relations Department attended networking, educational events and plenary hearings over several days during the 69th General Conference.

Students attended a breakfast career event at the Vienna International Centre (VIC), the headquarters of the IAEA. Attendees included members of the Women in Nuclear - IAEA Chapter. Webster Vienna students were invited to attend various sessions through the week, including panel discussions on global nuclear governance, safeguards and peaceful uses of nuclear energy, as well as side events focused on youth engagement and careers in international organizations.

Michael Aktipis, PhD, guided students on a tour of the VIC, introducing WVPU students to high-level diplomats and providing first-hand insights into the work of international organizations.

The Webster Vienna student attendees are members of the IR and Diplomacy Club, which unites students, faculty and staff to explore international relations beyond the classroom. From NGO visits and museum tours to expert lectures and fun international events, the club offers unique opportunities to engage with global issues and the world of diplomacy. Whether you’re interested in deepening your knowledge or meeting like-minded peers, the IR and Diplomacy Club is a gateway to Vienna’s international community. Students can join the club anytime throughout the academic year.

The event was facilitated by Nora Binder, HR and Student Affairs Director, and Associate Director Samuel Schubert, PhD. WVPU’s Career Services team is committed to empowering students to maximize the benefits of career planning, as well as supporting employers in recruiting the University’s top candidates. Career Services offers a variety of support tools for students, helping to develop their skill set toward a successful career in a competitive job market.
